Online Session on Coping with Ambiguous Loss sponsored by the Mental Health Sub-Committee of the Social Justice Committee at UUCSR.

A loss that lacks clarity or resolution is called an “ambiguous loss.” This term describes what many individuals and family members experience when severe mental illness (SMI) changes a person and how they navigate life. The person with SMI can experience the ambiguous loss of future plans, relationships, sense of self, and more. People who care for someone with SMI may feel as though their loved one is “gone but not gone” because of being so changed. Allowing yourself to grieve these complicated losses enables healing and forward momentum.
Jerri Clark, Resource and Advocacy Manager for Treatment Advocacy Center (TAC), will share information and coping strategies.

Friday, April 24, from 4pm to 6pm on Zoom. Link will be shared with all registered participants.
